Day1353
This guy…
When Mac and I met, there were certain criteria for a forever commitment and one of them was “loving dogs.” I knew he owned dogs before we met, but did he LOVE them? The answer to that is “absolutel.y. We were a match made in Heaven.
Not everyone dives into my “Doggy World” with the same heart and soul. Perhaps because of a combination of his love for me and for dogs, he is the ultimate Doggy Daddy! Nothing is too good for his boys and he never hesitates a second if one of them needs ANYTHING at all. We are so lucky to have him!
People will ask me about my devotion to Goldens and Therapy Dogging from time-to-time. Although it is a simple question, the answer is not as straightforward or clear cut. My best attempt might be…
“Devoting a huge portion of my time and energy to Therapy Dogging fills my heart with a purpose. Making the world a better place has always been a goal of mine and my Goldens do just that. I can train them and hold the leash, but aIso get a front row seat to the miracles they perform. They soothe frayed nerves, wipe up tears with their fur, listen with endless patience and share love unconditionally. Every day brings a new view of those pups offering therapy and making the world a better place. I simply need to help them fill out their “dance card” and they waltz right into people’s hearts. They make this world a better place for every life they touch…especially mine.”
So back to my dear husband, who really didn’t know the depths of this “dog love.” He never blinks an eye but supports every request and need for our Golden family. A group of Goldens is called a “halo” and I think I sometimes see one perched on Mac’s head! We are so lucky he puts up with all of our shenanigans!
