Day 1123

This girl walks to the beat of her own drum! Having the privilege of enjoying a solo walk each morning, she takes full advantage with every sniff! Not only does Miss Lilly stop to smell the roses…and other less delightful odors…she halts for anything seen, heard or possibly tasted. There is NO hurrying our girl!

Although slightly frustrated with our pace, I always resort to the feelings of gratitude for having this senior Golden by my side. Every day is a gift with her!

I also find myself studying her reaction to life in general. Nothing phases her in a negative way. She is simply present in the moment. Beautiful.

Living in the moment, without mentally pouring over my list of things to do, being hyper-vigilant of people in my line of sight and any noise that just might entertain my hearing, grabs me away from living in the moment. With a real effort, I can drag out my Inner-Lilly and grab the moment. Every time I am successful, I envy her spirit!

So, take it from Lilly… embrace each moment! Sniff, listen, taste and really look at the beautiful world around you. She knows how to live!
