Day 1180

Our Gus deserves a little bit of relaxation after a busy morning making people smile. We visited some our favorites at Norbella, but first, we had an adventure!

Mr. Mac and I were walking up the hill towards home when we became aware of a lone man walking our way. As he approached, I realized he was zeroing in on us for a reason.

As he walked forward, he asked us where the Anoka license bureau happened to be. He was from the Work House and only had a couple of hours to get back. Mac and I exchanged one of those husband/wife unspoken messages and I told him we would give him a ride. He was so very grateful, since he needed an ID to get his life back on track. Gus comforted while we encouraged him to hop into the car with Mac. (I stayed home to jump in if need be.) The man murmured something about divine intervention and gratefully jumped in. We felt as though we did the right thing.

Gauging our own safety, over the opportunity to help a person who truly needed a friend, led us to lend a hand to a stranger. Although It might not always be the right CHOICE, helping a stranger in need seemed to be the right thing to do.

I encourage you to choose kindness when it is safe to do so. For us, this was of little effort while it might have been life-changing for the stranger.

We knew it would end well…Gus had already given his Golden sniff of approval to the stranger!
