Day 1182

Having had her “peanut butter lunch,” mixed with medications, (you can see remnants on her face!), our sweet Lilly is enjoying a beautiful afternoon at the cottage. We took her solo to spend some quality time and see to her every need! Not being one to demand attention, she seems to be loving our time together. Her tail is still wagging!

Raising four children was a gift. Much like my four Goldens, one or two grabbed a bit more attention due to activities, personality or need. Trying to keep all of the plates spinning, I know there were times when it might have seemed like I was favoring one while ignoring another. As that was never the case, I know that they eventually understood that my devotion to each was always equal… it was simply the allotment of time that was disproportionate. Still…looking back, I know I could have done better.

Revisiting past decisions, mistakes and even successes serves no real purpose. There is absolutely no way to change history. However, ignoring the lessons learned from that past is foolhardy. Life’s classroom is truly the best teacher. The knowledge gained from yesterday is perfect for tomorrow’s decisions and actions.

Making the decision to have this one-on-one time with Lilly was made from lessons learned along the way. She asks for so little. This time, she won’t be overlooked!
