Day 1216

Reunions are joyful, heartwarming and loving! We had three Golden “missiles” launch themselves into our waiting arms. There was jumping, crying, and tail-wagging galore! It was a beautiful gathering indeed!

Trying to think like a Golden, my heart melted…

*Why would you leave us????

*We haven been confused!!!!

*Never again!!!!

If we could only comfort them with information and console them with our promise to be back in a few days! They simply can’t process reasons for the separation! Poor babies!

Knowing that panic sets in for me when I am unsure of a situation where I have no control. When my own loved ones are out of my helping reach, anxiety sets in and my thoughts become disjointed. At that point, I am not helpful in a situation. For the Goldens, we leave them to wonder what happened to their world.

Our lucky boys had their beloved Katie to take care of them in our absence. This, most certainly, helped their level of concern. Of that, I am most thankful!

There will be future separations that will come with Golden confusion and panic. All we can do is shower them with love before and after our parting. Perhaps that kind of love is worth the heartache.
