Day 1222

There is an old saying…”I’ve got your back”! My Golden Halo certainly understands what that means. Not only do they often lie back-to-back (going back to when their wolf ancestors were positioned to watch for predators), but they often stand beside each other as a show of force. Their loyalty is remarkable!

Having people in your life who “have your back” is a true gift. There have been numerous friends and family members who have stepped up, literally put an arm around my shoulders and made sure nothing bad could “attack from the rear.” My heart remembers and holds them close.

Being the person to have someone’s back is a strong stand indeed. It shows that you care about the individual, but more than that, you trust their motives and have faith in their being. Backing someone else typically includes facing their challenge alongside them. This could include meeting a human adversary of the person. Not being someone who enjoys confrontation, this has been a stretch for me. However, it is worth every second of discomfort to support those I love.

Thank you to those who have “had my back” and also appreciation directed at those who trust me enough to allow me to stand behind/beside them.
