Day 1225
Nothing, NOTHING can keep our boys from a guest or service person! No matter what the interloper is doing, the Goldens want to be right there!!!! Today, we had a painter at the cottage and all three acted crazed! I secluded Gus in a bedroom, but the other two acted like “dogs gone mad!” It wasn’t pretty!
Knowing the progression of success when people visit, I typically revert to saying their names and throwing treats…it always leads to failure!!! Something needs to change!!! I am determined to succeed, know the lessons and have the equipment…we shall see if success follows!
Doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting a different outcome is one of the definitions of “insanity!” That would be me in the case of doggy behavior when someone dares come to the door! Guilty, as charged! Long ago, I recognized this flaw in my character. Enter my amazing husband…
I would be spinning my wheels recreating failed plans over and over when a calm voice would say, “Do you have a Plan B?' Upon further discussion, an attempt at the new plan and a look at the outcome, it often was successful!
Now, when something doesn’t work, I take a deep breath and look for an alternate plan, in the words of my husband, “Sometimes Plan B becomes the new Plan A”…and it works!
