Day 1226

Poor Gus…his heart takes up so much room, we are not sure what is left over in the “brain department!” This sweet boy was in a quandary because his treat was under the table brace. As I watched, he checked from every angle, tried a few and then looked at me as if to say, “Well, Mommy, this is an impossible task. Help me!” Eventually, I came to his rescue and the treat was his!

There have been times in my life when I have been faced with seemingly impossible challenges. Some were self-inflicted while others appeared from another source. All were a trial with numerous hurdles. Still, most were not a choice, but simply part of the journey. Looking back, I pushed through with some outcomes more successful than others.

My tactics were to look at the big picture and break it down into small goals. Visualizing each step as a hurdle, I would take a leap, evaluate the success of that jump and then face the next one with a bit more of the challenge behind me!

Jumping through hoops is never much fun while in midair, but the end result usually makes it worthwhile. Even if, like Gus and the treat that wasn’t accessible, it seems daunting, just take a run at the first hurdle. Or, like Gus, you could always ask for a little help!
