Sweet Ranger!!! We read to four first grade classrooms this afternoon and each session ended with a line of “Ranger Fans” who simply wanted to pet his soft head. He was absolutely charming and I was able to be the “fly on the wall” where I could eavesdrop as the children whispered comments into his ear…

“You are the best dog in the whole world!”

“Your head is the softest thing I have ever felt!”

“I tell my dog about you!”

“Thank you for being so good!”

“You just make me happy!”

“I love you!”

It occurred to me that these sweet children must have heard kind words before. They seemed to be able to speak from their hearts and those hearts had been the recipients of their own whispers. Parents, teachers, family members and others must have filled their cup so that they could pour some of that love into Ranger’s waiting ear. Beautiful…

Never be afraid to share a compliment, deep feeling or loving comment. You will fill someone’s heart so that they can pass it on to the next ear. Ranger knows how good that feels!
