Day 1326
Heading up to the cottage to check on a few things, we walked in and were charmed by the snow. Having been here before Christmas , some things had changed…
*Snow and ice are everywhere…taking the color out of the usual kaleidoscope…
*The mice, although unseen, let us know they have been busy.
*Quiet…lots and lots of quiet.
*Peace. This is where my heart calms.
*No Goldens. Being a quick trip, we left them home. They are the heart and souls of this place and their presence is vastly missed.
We have decided that something is drastically missing when the boys are not beside us. Their very beings bring such light and love to any venue. However, with nobody panting, drooling, tracking in snow, playing, barking or asleep on our feet, we still miss them so! We sure love our Goldens.
When we left, I told Ranger he was in charge. When we return , I will ask for a full rundown of everyone’s behavior. He will bark at me and beg for a treat. I will thank him for that information.
A house (or cottage) is not a home without a pet in my opinion. However. those who are petless can only take my word got that!
