Day 1335
Family…
Today, we had some beloved family over to celebrate a belated “cousin holiday gathering.” Ranger was part of the party, but Gus and Sam were not invited (They were NOT happy!).
The loved ones who walked through the door were mostly related through genetics…all related through the heart. Our history, memories and circumstances blend us together, but there is another crucial ingredient…love.
Some of us grew up together. Others married into the family. All of us have a connection of the heart. This group makes everyone feel accepted, supported and important. If any one of us had a problem, the rest would descend to help and comfort without hesitation. That warms the heart.
We gather a few times each year and celebrate our connection. It would be so easy to refrain from making plans to congregate, but we all know this bond needs to be fostered with great care. It is always a time when we catch up, laugh, support and genuinely show the love we have for each other.
Never fail to nurture those family bonds. It is worth every moment of planning and execution.
Sam and Ranger were eventually invited to the party. They quickly joined in the fun and would agree that cousins are pretty amazing (especially that one with all the treats!!!!!)!
