Day 1350
We embarked on a brief yet profound journey, and our loving daughter graciously took care of our cherished boys, who adore her immensely, just as we do. Yet, they seemed to miss us deeply, and upon our midnight arrival home, courtesy of flight delays, they greeted us with unbridled joy, as if we had been away for an eternity! They barked, danced, jumped, whined, fell down, and literally cried tears of happiness, refusing to leave our side. We finally settled into the dining room, where they transformed into “lap dogs” for the Golden Boys. Over twelve hours have passed, and they still refuse to part with us.
Those precious babies have a unique perception of time, reminding us that our presence is a gift to those who love us. To them, our departure meant “We have been abandoned forever! What shall we do? No food, no water! We will surely fade away!!!” Yet, we were only away for five days! This experience reminded me that we all rely on someone for support, guidance, and unconditional love. It is truly a blessing to have such a circle of supporters.
Some people may pride themselves on independence, but I believe that embracing our need for others is a sign of strength, not weakness. It is in those moments of vulnerability that we discover the beauty of human connection and the power of love, which transforms us and helps us grow.
As for me, and my Golden Boys, we will always desire those connections, and I am grateful that my pups missed me, for it reminds me of the love that we share.
