Day 1421

Everything is new for these two! Watching the garbage trucks and school buses today, they vacillated from curiosity to fear. One minute, they were timidly wagging their tails in fascination and the next moment, they were hiding behind our feet. Of course, they are learning about the world at record speed, growing FAST and becoming more independent. They remind me of my own children at times… timid and bold all mixed together.

Everyone needs a safe place to learn and grow. The magic happens when the right amount of ingredients are in the mix. A place to safely make mistakes, an environment rich in possibilities to learn and someone to guide you along the path…all essential!

For my teacher friends: You are magicians who try to entice a vast, unique group of young learners to explore. Creating a safe, engaging environment might be slightly different for each student! Even though you might feel slightly defeated some days, you are mentors for each child. They are soaking in so much and retaining volumes.

For my parent friends: The selfless devotion I witness is humbling. Putting those children first is not always easy, but love guides the way. I see the looks of pride and adoration as you watch them grow and it gives me hope for the future.

For my doggy friends: just continue to be patient. It is all worth every step of the journey!

For my grandparent friends: You have no boundaries or limits. Seeing the adoration and pride warms my heart!

So, I think back to students from years past (I just saw two fabulous young men last weekend and love them both!), my own children, doggy coaches and loving grandparents and applaud them all! However, right now, there is a siren way down the road and two little Goldens need some love!
