When you receive a “surprise gift,” it is an amazing thing! Of course, the gifts you receive on your birthday or during the holidays are equally special, but the unexpected offering has a little addition of “wow factor!”

Yesterday, my dear friend, Charlene (Check out her rescue: Old Barkers Farm Senior Dog Rescue) dropped by with a lovely plant, it touched my heart. Her partner Greg, was missing his mom on Mother’s Day and he wanted to do something nice for someone. I was the lucky recipient! What a lovely gesture!

We all have ways of showing love. Often called your love language, it is how we show we care. I seem to be slightly diversified when it comes to that type of sharing, but I do enjoy showing my love through a gift. Choosing just the right offering is one way I can let someone know that they matter.

We seem to be in a day and age where gift-giving, card-sending and actual phone calls are becoming antiquated. That seems like a sad commentary on life. The world is spinning so fast for some people that they can’t jump off the merry-go-round. If that is the case, just sit down, enjoy the ride and call someone special until it comes to a stop. It might not change the world, but it will make one person feel loved!
