Day 1491

Hoarding is an issue with our youngest pups! Every morning, all five get a bone with peanut butter added in the middle. All of the bones end up in the puppies’ lair. Often, if Mama isn’t quick enough, the empty dog food bowls, extra toys and something naughty (a pen, a letter, a sock…) will be part of the “booty!” The older three look on with vast patience and interest. It’s as if they are saying, “Puppies will be puppies!”

One of my own issues is that I am a “gatherer.” Not exactly to the hoarding level, there are things I will bring home for a rainy day.

*Yarn

*Needlework

*Scrapbooking items

*Books

*Teddy bears

*Family heirlooms

(This list could go on and on!)

As I never sit long enough to enjoy these treasures at great lengths, it comforts me to simply know they are there when I am ready.

In a way, I envy Minimalists. They are free to live for the moment and they must feel “lighter” in many ways. For me (a Maximalist?), I love “stuff” surrounding me. A blanket on every chair, coasters for hot tea or coffee, three desserts displayed near the stove and…a Golden within reach at all times.

If I am on the hoarding continuum, I certainly am glad that it helped me to accumulate my Golden Halo!
