Day 1525

Every door leads to adventure for my Golden Halo! Impatiently waiting for Mama to open the door, three of the five are ready to burst forth. Believe me when I say Gus and Ranger are not far behind! They all seem certain that amazing things might just happen on the other side of the door. That is how they seem to view life!

What if humans had that same sense of wonder and excitement? With each unopened door, every turn around a new corner or any road less traveled…what might happen if we simply had the Golden philosophy that “Great things are about to happen”? The possibilities are absolutely endless!

Sadly, life tends to lean on the mundane and habits that create little hope for “possibilities”. We open those doors with trepidation and slide through with as little fanfare as possible. What if we BURST through with the hope of being dazzled and surprised? For myself, that would be a much more beautiful scenario than “expecting the expected” or slightly dreading what will be found beyond the door.

The challenge is breaking the mold that the years have imprinted on our very beings. My goal is to move beyond the doorway with a confident stride and a hope for a new adventure! Not every door, mind you, but perhaps even one each day.”

Perhaps, the next time the Golden Boys lurch out the door, I will follow with a great anticipation that something wonderful might just be ready to welcome me! As with the pups…I also need to be prepared to find that gift in the beauty of everyday life. Perhaps it is as easy as discovering a new sense of gratitude with each step.
