Day 1539

My First and Second Mates on our trip to “sea”! Calm waters, sunny skies and a slightly nervous Sammy. It was our boy’s first time on the pontoon and it took him a bit to relax. By the time we were heading back to the dock, he seemed to find some joy with the smorgasbord of sights, smells, sounds and sensations. We will call it a “win” for our Sam!

Embracing new adventures can sometimes come with a few trepidations. “What you don’t know, can’t hurt you” does not always fit when facing the unknown. For me, the more information, the better. First-hand experiences, manuals, observations and any other means of procuring safety checks can make a new experience much more enjoyable.

Remembering the first time I strapped on rollerblades, I can almost feel the nervous energy and unsteady rhythm on the path. It took some time and practice, but it was worth every elevated heartbeat… most adventures are.

At my age, new experiences tend to be a bit more sedate, however, with enough prior knowledge (and low chances of breaking bones) I say “bring it on”! I see a zipline in my future!
