Day 1546

Day 1546. “Walking With Goldens”

As you get older, others tend to ask for advice. It seems they feel that your journey has probably tested the water and discovered drop offs and other challenges. Although there is truth in their beliefs, we all continue to wade and swim. However, there are some lessons that are “shareable.”

For example, shank bones (filled with natural peanut butter) are wonderful for doggy dental hygiene. Our veterinarian team always remarks about the Halo’s beautiful teeth and ask if we brush every day. Sharing our wisdom brings a nod of acknowledgment.

As for parenting wisdom, which is ALWAYS trial and error, my best advice is to be lovingly firm and accepting of their individuality. Have I always been successful…no, but I always try to use that as a guiding light.

So, I continue to grow in wisdom as I soaringly share a nugget here and there. For now, I will return to the dog bed where the bones cleaned teeth and sew up a hole they decided to add to their morning routine. For every step forward in that wisdom comes a half step back in humility and humbleness. That’s life!
