Day 1608

It is a few hours before the “Anoka Light Up the Night Parade” and even the Goldens can feel the energy building. Floats are just starting to enter the town for their position in the lineup and an early band has arrived to warm up for the big event. There is an electric feeling in the air!

Being somewhat of an “empath,” there are many times when an energy fills me, whether I give it permission or not. Walking into a school, driving past a big city, being near any large event fills me with the excitement of the nearby crowd. It is a strange phenomenon, but I have generally grown to expect it.

This works on the other end of the scale as well. If there is sadness in the air, it hits me too. Walking through the hospital is a good example. If there is a room with an aura of angst, I join right in with similar feelings.

My Golden Boys feed on the same energy. They can pick up on emotions and have even alerted me to a need. Our sweet Lilly was the best at being an empath. There were times when she would zero in on a person and the tears of her chosen one would come five minutes into a conversation. Oh, how we miss that girl!

So the excitement elevates and my heart rate goes up in the most positive way! Being an empath has its “ups and downs”…just ask the Goldens!
